Sector Observatory — Country comparison

Compare Regional Markets

Select up to 4 member states. The comparison shows configuration and the evidence each country actually has. It never ranks countries and never fills a missing value with zero, Green or Red.

Method: Observatory method v0.1

Choose member states

Click or use the keyboard to select. 0 of 4 selected.

SADC member states — evidence coverage mapSixteen configured member states. Shading shows whether approved records exist; it is not a rating. Activate a country to add or remove it from the comparison.AGOBWACOMCODSWZLSOMDGMWIMUSMOZNAMSYCZAFTZAZMBZWE
Country outlines are generalised from Natural Earth public-domain data for on-screen pointing only. They are indicative, not an authority on borders, sovereignty or disputed territories. Small island states carry a marker because their land area is too small to be a reliable pointer target.

Legend — evidence coverage

  • Approved records registered
  • Conflicting evidence recorded
  • No approved records — Insufficient Evidence

Shading never encodes performance. A country with no approved records is neutral, not Red.

Pointed at

Move over or tab to a country. Up to 4 can be compared.

No country selected yet.

Side-by-side comparison

Configuration is shown for every country. Values appear only where an approved, comparable record exists for every selected country.

Select at least one country

Use the map above or the country register to add member states. Comparisons of two to four countries are supported.

Comparison rules

Why some cells read Insufficient Evidence even when a country has approved records.

  • A regional figure is shown only when it is computed from approved country records with a stated aggregation method, or quoted directly from a named source.
  • Every value carries indicator, value, unit, currency, period, country coverage, source, source URL, retrieval date, last review date, confidence, method version, aggregation method, release state, comparability flag, missing-country count and analyst note.
  • A value with missing member states states how many are missing; it is not presented as a regional total.
  • Values from sources that define the indicator differently are flagged not comparable and are not combined.
  • Missing evidence is displayed as Insufficient Evidence. It is never displayed as zero, Green or Red.
  • Nothing is forecast. Nothing is estimated to fill a gap.
