Commercial division of Read the Room Intelligence

We turn business evidence into a clear diagnosis, a practical treatment plan and measurable progress.

The Business Doctor is an independent business diagnostic and performance-improvement service. It examines the financial, organisational, market and operational condition of a business, explains the evidence, identifies priorities and supports measurable intervention.

Four services, presented equally

No service ranks above another. You may request any one directly, or ask us to recommend one — a recommendation is confirmed by a person before it becomes active.

The Check-Up

Persistent underperformance the business cannot explain, or a decision that needs a baseline first. The Check-Up separates symptoms from underlying problems and states where evidence is insufficient.

Best suited for
Owners, managers, boards and lenders who need a clear statement of current condition before a decision — and businesses whose internal reporting disagrees with what they are experiencing.

The Wellness Plan

The business knows what to fix but lacks the discipline or the evidence to tell whether performance is improving, stable or deteriorating from one period to the next.

Best suited for
Businesses that have agreed what to fix and need it tracked to a measure; owners of several businesses who need one comparable view; funders with an agreed monitoring arrangement. You can start here directly.

The Emergency Room

A material operational, commercial, liquidity, delivery, customer or governance threat that cannot wait for a normal planning cycle, and needs containment organised and recorded under pressure.

Best suited for
Management teams facing an immediate threat, and clients whose monitored measures have breached an agreed threshold. No prior engagement is required.
Fee status
Quoted after triage

The Specialist Referral Network

A specific need that sits beyond the current engagement — or beyond general business analysis — and requires a specialist, without losing oversight of scope, access and outcome.

Best suited for
Clients who already know which specialist field is required, clients whose approved diagnosis points beyond scope, and businesses that want a scoped, consented handover rather than an open introduction.
Fee status
Quoted after triage

Not sure which one applies? Answer a short guide and triage will suggest a service. A person confirms it with you before anything starts.

Help Me Choose

One method, five stages

Every service follows the same sequence and writes to the same client record: one history of evidence, diagnosis, actions, decisions and performance.

  1. Stage 1

    Understand the concern

What is the client worried about, and which decision must it support?

Required outputEnquiry record, consent and access boundaries, human-confirmed service assignment.

  2. Stage 2

    Collect and verify evidence

What reliable information is actually available?

Required outputEvidence register with source, quality, limitations and recorded gaps.

  3. Stage 3

Diagnose what is happening and why

What does the evidence show, what explains it, and how confident are we?

Required outputDraft findings reviewed and approved by a person — or returned for revision.

  4. Stage 4

    Agree actions, owners and measures

What should happen next, who owns it, by when, and how will success be judged?

Required outputApproved plan with owners, deadlines, success measures and escalation thresholds.

  5. Stage 5

Monitor improvement and decide what comes next

Are the agreed actions improving performance? Continue, adjust, escalate, refer or close?

Required outputIndicator movement with interpretation, and a human-approved transition or closure.

The full eleven-stage control sequence — including consent, diagnosis approval, client approval and closure — together with how we label knowledge and the six status states is set out in the Trust Centre.

What this service is not

  • A general management consultancy
  • A business-plan writing service
  • A motivational coaching service
  • A funding application service
  • A medical or healthcare service
  • A software dashboard without professional interpretation

We do not guarantee business success, funding approval or increased profit, and we do not claim official endorsement or access to government or bank data. Where evidence is incomplete, the record states so.
